Where did the year go?

It seems strange to say the end of 2022 is only a few days away. For whatever reason, the last few months have flown by in the blink of an eye. I’ve wrapped up the first semester of an Honors program, submitted a research proposal for approval, and (mostly) managed to keep up with Meatloaf. He’s a silly dog that is continuing to grow at 14 months; he’s around 110 lbs and getting bigger. Thank goodness he’s a happy boy, though he loves driving Bella a little crazy.

Most recently, we had to make a quick scramble to find tickets to Alton Brown’s Beyond The Eats show when the Fresno performance was cancelled a week before the event. Luckily, I was able to find good tickets for the Northridge show, although I was bummed that all of the VIP tickets were gone. It worked out fortuitously though; Jet and Ali Tila happened to be sitting directly in back of us, so I was able to say hi and take a picture with them. Another chef and baker checked on my food groupie list to meet. They were very nice, and I hope I get a chance to run into them again. I didn’t get picked for Alton’s game show this time (he chose people that were in the VIP section). At least I can say that I’ve probably seen his live show (five times), and been onstage with him (three times) more than anyone. It was really cool to see his wife, Elizabeth, play bass during the show. She has gotten a lot more comfortable performing over the last year.

The new year brings in a few fun things right off the bat. Food Groupie Cinema will start in January, and I’ll post more information ahead of time. The other big thing is a new season of Worst Cooks in America! The new recruits are social media personalities, but being tech savvy does not mean they can find their way around the kitchen. Tune in to Food Network starting January 1st for the new season, and don’t forget to get your bingo cards! New cards will be posted the week before each new show.

2021 – almost time for new Worst Cooks In America Bingo!

As 2020 draws to a close, we start looking to the new year with hope and anticipation. For me, that means working on more recipes, reading more cookbooks, and watching Food Network for Worst Cooks In America and playing WC Bingo. Allison Wolfe and I have so much fun creating the bingo cards to go along with the show. Just to be clear, I am not affiliated with Food Network or Worst Cooks. I am simply a food groupie and fan, and found a fun way to interact with the show. The bingo cards have proven to be popular, so we are gearing up for the new season that starts Sunday, January 3rd at 6pm PT/9pm ET.

The new season bring a new(ish) chef to Team Blue – Carla Hall. She was a judge on the recent Halloween redemption episode (I see you, Brett Azar!), but has not had to run the gauntlet of boot camp recruits. I don’t know if she knows what she signed up for, since the redemption chefs had already been through the drill before. Both chefs are amazing in the kitchen, and it will be great to see what they can do with people that can burn water.

I hope you have fun playing bingo along with us. I don’t get to see the show ahead of time, so I am just as surprised at the shenanigans that go on. You can print up an individual card or play a few, the choice is up to you.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Food Network, but I am a huge food groupie. Watching food competition shows is my idea of a sporting event.

Time for Worst Cooks In America Bingo!

Apparently 2020 is the year of wild and crazy Food Network shows. I loved last season’s Worst Cooks in America with Anne Burrell and Alton Brown, and watched Amy Schumer Learns To Cook (she actually did, a teeny tiny bit) as a way to liven up staying home during the pandemic. Due to Worst Cooks, I teamed up with Allison Wolfe to make and post bingo cards for last season celebrity edition. They have proven to be popular, so we are gearing up for the new season that starts Sunday, June 21st.

The new season bring a feisty new chef to Team Blue – Alex Guarnaschelli. She was a judge during the early stages of the show, but has not had to run the gauntlet of boot camp recruits. I don’t know if she knows what she signed up for; I think she should have asked Alton for tips or what to be on the lookout for. Both chefs are amazing in the kitchen, and it will be great to see what they can do with people that can burn water.

It’s Bingo Time – Food Network style!

At the beginning of the year, I thought it would be fun to create bingo cards to play along with Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America. My husband and I watch the show every season, and DVR it to watch again later. I like Anne Burrell, and the rotating chef-instructor each season makes it fun. I am definitely a Rockin’ Red fan, even though I was really torn between the two teams last season because Alton Brown was running the blue team. (Long story short, I almost tossed him into his Megabake Oven when he was in Fresno in 2015, and made a vile frozen cocktail of fernet branca, whiskey, and dill pickle juice in 2017. Oh, and was accused of being a witch during the 2017 show because no one had ever been picked twice.)

I posted the bingo cards on several social media sites and tagged the stars, network, and show. I am not affiliated with Food Network, but I am a huge food groupie. Watching food competition shows is my idea of a sporting event. The cards went over well, and each week we made new cards. The new season is starting on May 10th with a celebrity edition. I am joining forces with Allison Victoria-Wolfe on the bingo cards to make sure more people can play along. Allison was the Season 15 winner of Worst Cooks, and has a great story of why she wanted to be on the show.
